I began sewing at the age of seven and never looked back. Throughout the years I have constantly looked for ways to broaden my skills, including working as a seamstress for a small company in Charleston, SC where we sewed custom interior drapes and bedding for the beautiful historic homes in the area.
Since moving back to Pittsburgh, I am excited to open Heather Rose Sewing Boutique and turn my focus to boutique children’s items. My vision is to create quilts, blankets, stuffed animals, and other small items that foster imagination and inspire kids to dream. From mermaids to superheroes, from ninjas to African princesses, I choose playful, whimsical fabrics that showcase the diversity of our world and embolden children to stay true to themselves.
On a recent trip to France, I was inspired by the toy shops that were filled with charming stuffed animals and characters that adults and children alike could fall in love with. In a similar way, I hope my work will bring individuals of all ages together, transporting them to fanciful worlds of friendship, imagination, and play.
All of my products are created in my smoke free, pet free home with my industrial Juki sewing machine. I sew small batches and strive for the highest quality!
